The Simple Sunday Reset: 5 Easy Steps to Reduce Stress & Boost Productivity

Sundays used to stress me out. I’d wake up thinking about all the things I should get done before Monday—the laundry, the meal prep, the to-do list that never seemed to end. But I also craved rest, family time, and just a moment to breathe. Sound familiar?
I’ve found a way to strike a balance, and I want to share it with you. These five simple Sunday reset steps have helped me feel prepared for the week ahead without the overwhelm—and they can do the same for you.
1. The 5-Min Energy Check-In 🧘♀️
Before diving into tasks, take five minutes to check in with your energy. As women, we often push ourselves without pausing to ask, What do I need today?
If you follow Human Design, this can be even more powerful:
Generators & MGs – What excites you? Focus on that.
Projectors – Where can you simplify and delegate?
Manifestors – What’s your next inspired action?
Reflectors – What environment will best support you?
This quick pause sets the tone for a Sunday that feels aligned instead of exhausting.
2. The 30-Min Sunday Sweep 🏡
My family and I used to set a timer for 90 minutes to clean the house on Sundays, only to feel like I’d wasted my weekend. Now, I set a timer for 30 minutes and do a quick refresh:
✔️ Clear the kitchen counter
✔️ Reset my coffee/tea station
✔️ Fluff pillows, fold blankets
✔️ Tidy up high-traffic areas
It’s amazing how a little reset makes my home (and mind) feel lighter.
3. The 10-Min Weekly Preview 🗓️
Taking just 10 minutes to look at the week ahead makes a huge difference. I check:
📌 Appointments, events, or deadlines
📌 One thing I can prep today to make my week easier
📌 Three dinners I’ll actually make—no complicated meal plans!
This keeps me from scrambling midweek and helps me feel more in control.
4. A 15-Min Digital Declutter 📱
I didn’t realize how much digital clutter was draining me until I started 15-minute Sunday cleanups. Now, I:
📂 Clear out my email inbox (or at least flag the important stuff)
📂 Delete old notes, downloads, and screenshots
📂 Unfollow anything that doesn’t align with my energy
It’s a small act that makes me feel so much more mentally clear.
5. A No-Guilt Self-Care Moment ☕️
Sundays shouldn’t just be about getting ready for the week—they should also be about recharging. Whether it’s:
💆♀️ A hot bath
📖 Reading a few chapters of a book
🚶♀️ A slow walk outside
—Giving myself permission to pause makes the biggest impact on my week.
